I am over-joyed to share with all of you that our 2016 Food Drive was extremely successful. As a group, we collected 726 lbs of food and $1375.43 in cash donations throughout all of our locations. The All American Co-op Progressive Ag Center Board of Directors approved a match commitment be added to our 2016 food drive. Because of the added generosity from our board of directors we were able to increase our donations by another $2000.00 for a total cash donation totaling $3375.43. You may recall, in 2015 we donated 575 lbs of food and $566.50 in cash. I would like to say “Thank you” to everyone who donated, and to our Board of Directors for their support of this worthy cause by matching all cash and food donations collected. I feel honored to have had multiple customers bring in donations again this year.
Our 726 lbs. of food was distributed to 4 area food shelves including St. John’s Lutheran Church of Wykoff, Spring Valley Area Food Shelf, St. Charles Area Food Shelf, and Elgin/Plainview Food Shelf. The cash donations from our St. Charles, Elgin, Viola, Eyota, Plainview, and Chatfield locations were donated to their respective food shelves. The cash donations collected at Stewartville were donated to Channel One in Rochester. At Channel One, we were able to designate our preference as to where we would like our cash donation distributed. We requested that those funds be passed along to the communities that we do business in. With 1 in 5 children struggling with hunger, it’s nice to know that our efforts help so many people right here at home.
Chairing this effort for our cooperative is such a rewarding experience for me. Because of your efforts and generosity I am honored to be able to drop off our company’s food donations at our local food shelves. Each and every group I visited was extremely grateful for our generosity and asked that I share a huge “Thank you” to everyone who donated. I can’t wait to see what we can do next year. No donation is ever too small. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
