2018 Minnesota 4-H Livestock Day Camps

Attention all beef, meat goat, swine and rabbit project members!

Do you want to learn more about your beef, meat goat, swine or rabbit project? Would you like to learn from area experts and other youth how to better take care of and show your project animal? If so, we have the perfect day training for you!

Minnesota 4-H is offering 4-H livestock day camps in six areas of the state. The day’s trainings will be the same, just different locations! We will be taking an in-depth look at fitting and showmanship, animal health and hoof/foot care, nutrition and biosecurity in each of these species. Youth will be required to identify one animal type that they will learn about during the day.

Check-in for the day camp will start at 9:30 a.m. with program starting promptly at 10:00 a.m. We will wrap up the day at 4:00 p.m. The program will focus on youth grades 6 and above, but we encourage younger 4-H members (grades 3–5) with a parent/chaperone.  Cost is $10 per participant, which includes lunch and breaks. We will cap the expense per family at $40 (four or more members of an immediate family).
