Don’t Miss the August 8 Southeast Forage Council Field Day
– Plot Tours, Bale Wrapping Demos, Educational Sessions & More –
Nitrogen Credits and Nitrogen Testing in Corn Production, as well as Incorporating and Feeding Cover Crops will be just two of the topics covered at the Southeast Minnesota Forage Council Summer Field Day scheduled for Tuesday, August 8 in Spring Valley, MN.
Field Day begins at 10:00 a.m. and is hosted by Dan Miller of Valley Angus Farm. The event is FREE – please RSVP to help with adequate meal counts.
In addition to corn production nitrogen and cover crops, you will also learn about Key Steps to Profitable Rotational Grazing; Draft N Fertilizer Rule; Results of On-Farm Nitrogen Management Plots; and Comparing Benefits of Bale Wrapping Methods.
Field Day highlights include bale wrapping demonstrations and plot tours. The tours will focus on a nutrient management initiative tool used to evaluate efficiency and practices to benefit water quality, and another on forage species selection, fertilization, and stocking density.
Field day is being held south of I-90 and north of Highway 16, between Spring Valley and Chatfield.
