This year’s event is a joint effort between MDI, SE MN Forage Council, MFA and UM Extension. The event will be hosted on July 30 at Metz’s Hart-Land Dairy & Creamery and Clear Crest Farms (Luke and Robb Miller). We will be doing a farm tour at each location and Dr. Dan Undersander will be speaking. The event is free to attend and includes a lunch.

This annual field day begins at 9:30 a.m. and is FREE; please RSVP to help with adequate meal counts.

The educational sessions include: Metz’s Hart Land Creamery Overview in Rushford will be the first stop where those in attendance are able to see a creamery in operation as well as check out fresh cheese curds and gelato samples. At this stop, you will learn more about crop rotation, feeding practices, and use of baleage. After lunch, the group will travel to Clear Crest Farm in Lewiston where you will be able to see a BouMatic 32 stall internal rotary parlor as well as learn more about crop rotation and feeding cover crops.

The field day will be held at 25909 Co Rd 102, Rushford, MN 55971 and later at 25924 Co Rd 25, Lewiston, MN 55952.
