Some of you may know that June was Dairy Month! This made June a very busy month for me. I want to apologize for my absence in blogging.
Here are a few things that kept me busy through out the month that I am proud to be part of.
The county that I live in has never had an organized event to bring the community to farms to visit and learn about agriculture. Last fall I had a goal to have an event in the county. With a group of other passionate agriculturist we were able to have our very first Family Night on the Farm in June. This event was held on a dairy farm where visitors were able to watch cows be milked, pet animals, see old and new machinery, learn about agricultural products, eat a delicious meal, and enjoy the company of others. Our goal was 200 people and we were ecstatic to have over 500 guests!
I am proud to be part of our American Dairy Association and help with coordinating the Dairy Princess Program. We had 3 wonderful ladies run this year and one was selected as a Finalist for Princess Kay. These young ladies are very busy promoting the dairy industry attending parades.

We were also able to fit in a small family vacation in this month.
Now that June is over I am hoping to catch up on my blogging!
